Interview with Alfred (Part 1)
This is the first in a multi-part interview series with the notorious yet beloved Alfred the Duck. Each part will be brief, but duckalicious.
I first met Alfred in his room at the Hilton on Park Lane. It was early December, and the cold had already set in. All around the world, people were huddling together for warmth, and from the fear of an ever-deepening recession.
After making my way to his room, one of his aides ushered me into a seat. Ten minutes later, Alfred swaggered in from the bathroom, ruffled his feathers, and sat down to talk. Wearing his trademark Ray-Ban sunglasses indoors, and followed by a young female assistant who was carrying his also-trademark yellow duck umbrella, he was every bit the larger-than-life character that I was hoping to meet.
The interview began.
